[00:00:00] Hey hey, Shauna here. And you're listening to the delightful audiosodes. These are mini episodes designed to spark inspiration and provide practical tips for therapists looking to diversify their professional income and achieve lucrative, fulfilling careers beyond the couch. You're listening to Season two, Episode eight, your Network Is yous Net Worth Building your Community when we talk about networking, many people immediately think about who they know. But that's only part of the equation. Your network grows when you have clear understanding of what you're offering and how you show up in your space. It's not just about reaching out, it's about what you're putting out into the world. And today we're diving into how to build a strong network that leads to real opportunities. Here's the show, so first things first, let's talk about how you can go about building that network. And the first thing that I want you to think about is putting Putting Clarity before Connection before you start reaching out to potential collaborators, referral sources, or peers, you need clarity on what you offer, who you serve, and the impact you want to make. People will only remember you if your messaging is clear. If someone asks what do you do? And you struggle to answer concisely, it's time to refine that. The clearer you are, the easier it is for people to connect you to the right opportunities. So take this action step. Take a moment today to write down your quick pitch in one to two sentences. How would you describe what it is you do and who it is that you help? The next thing that I want you to think about is how your network grows when you are visible. Networking isn't just about sending DMs or cold emails. It's about showing up where your ideal audience and peers are. That means creating content that speaks directly to your expertise. It means engaging in the industry conversations and providing value. It also means being consistent in how you present yourself online and off. When you share insights, contribute to discussions, and provide valuable information, people start seeing you as a trusted resource. That is what naturally builds your network over time. So you want to be able to identify one way you can increase your visibility this week. Maybe it's engaging in an online community, posting on social media, or just reaching out to a past colleague to reconnect. Another thing that I want you to think about doing is building relationships, not just contacts. The most powerful networks are built on relationships, not transactions. Instead of reaching out with can you refer me to clients? Think about how you can create mutual value. Offer insights or supports before asking for anything. Show genuine interest in what others are doing Be the kind of connection you want for yourself. Your network is an ecosystem and when you nurture those relationships, opportunities come naturally. In this action step, I want you to reach out to one person today. Not to ask for something, but to check in, offer support or celebrate their work. [00:03:00] Okay, so this week, you know it. We're getting into the call of action. What are we doing this week to become more visible and build that network so that you have more net worth. You want to build a strong network and and it starts with clarity, visibility and real relationships. So your action steps for today is refine your messaging so people know instantly and they understand what it is that you do.
