[00:00:00] Hey. Hey. I'm Shana A. And you're listening to the delightful audiosodes. These mini episodes are designed to spark inspiration and provide practical tips for therapists looking to diversify their income and build lucrative, fulfilling careers beyond the couch. This month, we're talking about niche. And today's episode is a powerful reminder that if you want to start planning for success, you've got to start with alignment. You're listening to season two, episode 13, titled Align your How to Start Planning for Success. Now, here's the show, so let's be real. You can't strategize effectively if you don't know who you're talking to. And that's why your niche is one of the most foundational pieces of your business. And yet it's the one thing that I see therapists resist over and over again. I get pushback all the time, Shauna. I'm already making money. I already have a full caseload. I don't need a niche to be successful. And you know what? That they're right. You can survive without a defined niche. But we're not here to survive. We're here to thrive. We're here to scale, expand, and create ease in our marketing and services. And when therapists finally nail down their niche, everything shifts. Their messaging gets clearer, their referrals become more aligned, and their income doesn't just increase, it multiplies. So, story time. I started my private practice back in 2021 and went full time in December 2022 with a clearly defined niche. I was able to get full in five months with a waiting list. Not because I was everywhere online, not because I was the loudest, but because people knew exactly who I helped and how I helped them. That's the power of positioning. And that's what your niche does for you. My niche helped me to build a thriving practice. But more importantly, it gave me the confidence and the clarity to scale beyond one on one therapy. I didn't just shift because of necessity. I shifted because it was time to grow. And it all started with my niche. And I'm going to tell you, I say niche. You can say the word as niche. It does not matter whether it's a niche or a niche. It does the same thing. It helps you to position your practice. So here's the lesson I want you to take away today. You can't align your goals with vague marketing. If you don't know the problem you help to solve and who holds that problem, you're going to struggle to gain traction. Let me simplify it for you, your niche is what's the problem you help to solve and who has that problem. That's it. That's the beginning of your niche. And don't wait around for it to find you. A lot of people will say that they discover discovered their niche or they're waiting to find their niche. They're waiting for their niche to come in. No, no, no, no, no. Your niche is defined by you. Keep it simple. And yes, over time you can make it fancier with a so they can XYZ statement. But the core of your positioning is really simple. What's the problem you help to solve and who has that problem. And when you define your niche, your plans can become clearer, your goals become more aligned and your strategy starts to finally. [00:03:16] So your action step for this week, I want you to revisit your niche. Ask yourself, do I clearly know who I serve and what problem I help them to solve? Does my content reflect that? Does my offer speak directly to that person's need? If the answer is not really, that's your cue to refine. And if you want guidance on how to do it, I've got a couple of ways to help you. One, there's the private practice Power Sprint. And it kicks off again on May 5th. And it's designed to help you not only define your niche, not only position, but to take action in the steps necessary to have a practice that's scalable and that positions you with confidence and clarity. And it's okay if you're not ready to sprint because I have created a Patreon specifically for therapists ready to go beyond the couch. This Patreon has full blown roadmaps and mini trainings to help you take this work deeper without overwhelm. I'm going to include the links to both in the show notes. And know this, when you are working with me, we are not looking to just survive. We are looking to thrive. So this practice, this work, is positioning beyond setting things up. It is to create scalability and sustainability. Pulling this all together, you don't need more noise. You need alignment. Because when your messaging matches your mission, you stop spinning and start scaling. So let's make this season where you build a business that fits your values, your voice and your vision. You've got this. I'm going to see you all next week. Bye for now.
